Hi. I’m Kat Nikolich. I’m a science educator, a marine biologist, and an environmental advocate. I’m currently undergoing an intensive teacher education program at the University of Victoria, Canada. If I could go back and tell my high-school self that, thirteen years later, I am now studying to be a teacher so that I could work in a high school, she would think I was telling a bad joke. The fact that I’ve done some pretty cool things along the way might help soften the blow.

Present-day me couldn’t be more thrilled at my new direction, and part of that is (finally!) learning to use modern technology like blogs, social media, and mobile apps in my teaching. This blog is a way to record my learning and showcase some of the work I’m doing along the way, both in my new career path and in my everyday life.
